Interview with Myles Kennedy

Little Industry Girl had the chance to ask Myles Kennedy some questions about his involvement with Moscot, fashion, and of course, his love for music! Here’s what he had to say:

What does music mean to you? What are some of your earliest memories of how music influenced you?
Music is oxygen for me. I can’t fathom life without it. One of the earliest memories I have is hearing Queen’s “We Will Rock You/ We Are The Champions” after losing a baseball game when I was 6. It was definitely a pivotal moment for me because it made me aware of how music can liberate you from negative emotions and take you to a better place. Another big moment was watching Stevie Wonder perform Superstition on an episode of Sesame Street. That still might be one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen on TV.

What are you most excited about with the launch of Myles Sunglass x Moscot Mobileyes?
I am really excited because now if I misplace my glasses, my name is written on the side…kidding! What thrills me is that Moscot is putting part of the proceeds of the MYLES towards the Moscot Mobileyes Foundation, which will help folks get eyecare and eyewear who otherwise couldn’t. The fact that Moscot is committed to helping the community says a lot about the company. I am very proud to be a part of this campaign.

How does music influence your personal style?
I think it helps keep me young at heart and keeps me from dressing like a banker. Being a musician definitely allows me live in a suspended state of adolescence. I don’t dress that much different than I did when I was 14 (minus the parachute pants).

What is one thing you can’t walk out of your house without?
A good pair of boots.

You were in New York during fashion week! Were you able to go to any shows?
I didn’t get a chance to check out any shows. I did see lots of very interesting wardrobe choices as I walked around Manhattan. I was inspired to see that people weren’t afraid to express themselves and take chances. Definitely made for some great people watching!
