Slash & Myles Kennedy - Skavlan Talkshow

Slash, former lead guitarist of legendary group Guns N’ Roses, visited Stockholm in November 2014 and was guest on the Scandinavian talk show Skavlan. At the end of the interview he performed with fellow musician and songwriter Myles Kennedy one song from his latest album ‘World On Fire’.

Slash was already during the latter years of Guns N’ Roses involved in musical side projects and has released a string of solo-records. He received critical acclaim as a guitarist, and Time magazine named him runner-up on their list of ”The 10 Best Electric Guitar Players” in 2009. Magazine Rolling Stones placed him at No. 65 on their list of ”The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time” in 2011. Other renowned rankings include his solo in ’November Rain’ and his riff in ’Sweet Child of Mine’. In 2012, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, along with other members of Guns N’ Roses.

“It’s been an interesting road from the mid 90s up until now,” says Slash. “I never stopped to think, ‘What am I gonna to do in the long term?’ Or ruminated on my solo career, where it was heading. I’ve just been jamming around, going wherever the muse has taken me. And this is the first time where I feel like I’m in the saddle and riding my own destiny with some genuine focus.”
